What is pet wellness? The goal of a pet wellness program is to prevent or minimize disease or injury, improve your pet’s quality of life, and help your pet enjoy a healthy life for as long as possible. Depending on your pet’s specific needs, wellness care consists of annual or semi-annual examinations, fecal testing, bloodwork, and vaccinations.
In honor of National Pet Wellness Month, we would like to offer 10% off complete blood panels (with annual or current examination). Bloodwork can identify health problems before they become serious concerns. Bloodwork can also provide a baseline as a basis of comparison against future changes.
A Total Body blood panel includes:
Complete Blood Count
Chemistry Analysis (major organ function)
Thyroid Screen
Urinalysis
Bloodwork is especially important if you have noticed any of the subtle signs of sickness in your pet:
1. Inappropriate elimination (outside the litterbox for cats, indoors for dogs) or change in frequency of elimination
2. Changes in interaction with humans or other pets
3. Changes in activity
4. Changes in sleeping habits
5. Changes (increase or decrease) in food or water consumption
6. Unexplained weight loss or gain
7. Changes in grooming habits or coat quality/thickness
8. Signs of stress, boredom, or depression
9. Changes in vocalization (especially for cats)
10. Bad breath or drooling
Remember, if detected early, 75% of common diseases in dogs and 63% of common diseases in cats can be treated, prevented, or improved, by dietary modifications alone!
